Why might a CM calibration reading change over time?

A change in calibration reading does not necessarily mean that there is a problem with the instrument.

The calibration result can be affected by factors such as:

  • Volume of solution
  • Evaporation
  • IPA concentration
  • Temperature
  • Age and condition of the solution
  • Contamination or exposure of the solution to the atmosphere

For this reason, calibration solutions should be treated as controlled test materials and maintained appropriately.
